Getting started with Kentra
Setting up Kentra takes a few minutes. You can skip most steps and come back to them later.
Your first few minutes
- Read the Important health notice and tap I understand. You will see it again if you reinstall the app.
- Create an account or sign in.
- On Before we start, confirm that you are 18 or older and accept the Terms and Privacy Policy. You can also allow the AI features here. The chat assistant needs this to answer you, but you can turn it on later.
- Meet your companion, Ken the bear. You can pick a different animal or skip this.
- Choose whether to allow notifications and the microphone. Both can be skipped.
- Bring in health data from your phone, or tap Skip for now.
On Home you will see two cards: Get my score and Build my full picture. After your first result, a short tour shows you around. You can skip the tour.
Filling in your profile
Open the menu (☰) at the top left of Home. Under your name you will see Profile N% complete. Tap it to see what is still missing.
- Basics: your name, date of birth, sex, height and weight.
- Your ZIP code.
- Whether you have allergies, conditions, medicines or supplements.
- A few lifestyle questions, such as tobacco and alcohol.
- A few personal details, such as a nickname.
Changing your details later
Open the menu (☰), tap Profile, then choose:
- Personal Info for your name, date of birth, sex at birth, phone number and ZIP code.
- Basics for height, weight and blood type.
- Emergency for allergies, conditions, your primary care doctor and an emergency contact.
You can also just tell Kentra in chat, for example "my new ZIP code is 80202". Kentra will confirm what it saved.
Good to know
- Profile will not open? Fill in your name, date of birth, sex, height and weight first. Until then the app shows "Complete your basic info first".
- Kentra uses US units: feet and inches, and pounds.
- The app is in English only for now.
- About every six weeks, Kentra asks whether anything has changed. Saying "nothing changed" is fine.
